SAN ANTONIO NAMED IN TOP FIVE HEALTHIEST HOUSING MARKETS BY HANLEY WOOD MARKET INTELLIGENCE


(March 18, 2009) BOERNE, Texas – As the state of the economy still shows much uncertainty, one bright spot is the housing market in Texas. According to a Hanley Wood Market Intelligence (in conjunction with Builder) Report, the Top Five Healthiest Housing Markets in the country are in Texas with San Antonio coming in at #4.

This ranking shows much promise not only for San Antonio, but for the Texas Hill Country and Cordillera Ranch. With mortgage rates at all time lows, the cost of new home construction coming down and lower Kendall County tax rates, the affordability of property in Cordillera Ranch has never been better. The Hanley Wood Market Intelligence report states that “Lower rates and falling prices have pushed the existing home affordability ratio in December to 63.1% which is the highest it has been since we started tracking the field in January 1990.”

Cordillera Ranch has seen an increase in the number of home purchases since the beginning of the year and if the affordability levels remain strong then the San Antonio and Texas Hill Country housing markets will remain healthy well into 2009 and beyond.
