(November 12, 2007) BOERNE, Texas
– National golf experts are taking notice of the
sweeping views and natural beauty that encompass the
Texas Hill Country. Cordillera Ranch, an 8,700-acre
master-planned residential community north of San
Antonio that features a stunning Jack Nicklaus Signature
Golf Course, has just earned coveted recognition from
two national golf publications.
Golf Inc. magazine selected
Cordillera Ranch as one of five finalists in the
“Private Club” category of the magazine’s 2007
“Development of the Year” competition, which recognizes
the nation’s best new golf developments. Additionally,
Links magazine recognized Cordillera Ranch among
“America’s 100 Premier Properties,” in its special issue
on the guide to golf real estate.
“We are thrilled that these national
publications have chosen Cordillera Ranch among the best
of the best,” said Chris Hill, vice president of
Cordillera Ranch. “From the beginning, we envisioned a
development that would maintain the integrity and beauty
of the original ranch site while creating a premier
community with access to a unique selection of
prestigious clubs. We believe this project has
continually exceeded our very high expectations.”
The 7,464-yard, par-72 Nicklaus-designed
course opened in May 2007, and is the centerpiece of
Cordillera Ranch. The concept was to design a course
that would preserve the property’s striking limestone
features, the spring-fed creeks that meander throughout
the site and other natural elements. The development on
the Guadalupe River also offers its members the benefits
of the seven Clubs of Cordillera Ranch, which include
the Golf Club, the Tennis and Swim Club, the Equestrian
Club, the Rod and Gun Club, the River Club, the Spa and
Athletic Club and the Social Club.
Golf Inc. will host
representatives of Cordillera Ranch and other finalists
at a special awards gala in April 2008 at the Doral
Resort in Miami, where they will receive special
recognition. The magazine judged each property based on
the development’s vision, course routing and course
aesthetics.
The Links issue—billed as the
“biggest, most comprehensive guide to golf
communities”—highlighted Cordillera Ranch’s course and
amenities, and noted the development as one of only 14
newcomers to the “America’s 100 Premier Properties”
list. The 2007-2008 edition of this special issue is
available on newsstands now.
